Born and raised in Flint Township, MI., he attended Flint Carman High School where he excelled in basketball and football. He attended Michigan Technological University on a basketball scholarship and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Management. In 1990 he was awarded the Men’s Athletic – The Rick Webster “SISU” – meaning “guts” Award; a special honor bestowed upon a student-athlete or individual associated with athletics at Michigan Tech, who has overcome adversity, exhibited courage through difficult situations, performed with pain/injury, or performed admirably after recovering from severe injury or adverse situation. Upon the completion of his undergraduate studies, he spent three years at General Motors – AC Rochester, serving as a floor line supervisor.
In 1993, he made the pivotal decision to pursue his passion for the law by enrolling at Thomas Cooley Law School in Lansing, MI. He graduated in 1996 with honors, achieving Cum Laude distinction. After completing his legal education, he assumed the role of Judicial Advisory Assistant (Law Clerk) for Judge Duncan Beagle in the Genesee County Circuit Court. Subsequently, he was appointed as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney within the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office, where he undertook responsibilities in the District Court Unit, progressed to the Drug Division, and ultimately excelled in the Felony Trial Division. As an assistant prosecutor, he tried a diverse array of criminal cases, encompassing both misdemeanors and felonies. Then, in 2000, he founded his own legal practice and thrived in a flourishing private practice for 25 years. There, he specialized in Family Law and Criminal Law. Throughout his career, he has adeptly conducted a multitude of Family Law trials and Criminal Jury trials, including a diverse array of misdemeanors and various classifications of felony cases.
Tony is an ardent sports aficionado who revels in both observing and attending football and basketball matches at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels. A staunch supporter of the Detroit Lions, he treasures the camaraderie shared with his friends and family during their games.
